Coombs Camping Trip

Our last big trip before starting the school year was a week long camping trip!  We spent a couple nights at Green River Campgrounds at the Dinosaur National Monument in Vernal.  The weather was great, the dinosaurs were nice, and the little hikes we went on were great.

The boys love our tent!  Pace quickly decorated it with disasters so everyone would know we were the "disaster tent".  We had breakfast visitors every morning...

Checking out the dino map to see which hikes we should go on.

We checked out the Dinosaur Museum first and got to ride a bus from the museum shop up to the dinosaur bone wall.  The boys thought that was the greatest ride ever!  The park rangers also helped the boys get situated with their dinosaur booklets to fill out in order to become dinosaur Jr. Rangers.

The Park Ranger led a great game of dino bingo, then we checked out the wall.  Apparently this area was river run off and the bones just collected in the river sludge.  They built the building around the bones after discovering so many.

Officially Jr. Rangers!

Then we hiked to the petroglyphs to find the huge lizard and the flute-playing man.

We explored another smaller dino museum in Vernal and then went to a Napoli Pizza shop.  Yes, in Vernal!

Pace got a hold of my phone and snapped some shots from his POV--love it!
