happy mother's day!

david found a pretty fun terrarium planter for mother's day!  i love this idea!  i'm not a very good indoor-plant-keeper (outdoor is only slightly better...this one definitely does not have a green thumb), but i love this idea--it'll mostly take care of itself, and if the succulents do die, maybe i'll replant a desert scape with cacti, bones, sand, etc.  ha ha.  this was a very fun project to do with pace!  max was down for his nap, and pace decided he'd skip his, so we built the terrarium instead.  i emailed pro plants today as a very dissatisfied customer--we had a dirt explosion inside the box, and upon further inspection, it seemed this particular terrarium had been opened and returned--everything was packaged in sandwich and snack sized ziploc baggies (kind of sure a packaging plant doesn't use ziploc baggies...).  it still went together just fine.

we're currently in the silly-face-making-for-photos phase.  we can convince pace to do one "sweet-boy face" for every silly one.

david also got a few picture books for us to read--this one is a really cute book called "stuck"--a little boy gets his kite stuck in a tree, and then throws a whole bunch of other things that get stuck up there while trying to get the kite down.

we also gave the boys "big boy" haircuts.  max was not a fan.  he screamed from start to finish, the poor thing.  and then we tried to get some mama and her boys photos...david said, "well, there were some good ones of you, good ones of pace, and good ones of max...but never together."  i'l just expect that for the next 10-15 years and i won't be disappointed.  and yes, it was cold enough to wear sweaters to church!
