brigham city bird refuge

we had no idea there's a bird refuge right in our (almost) backyard until bishka suggested we check it out!  we printed out their packet and headed up to brigham city for some fun!  the jr. ranger packet had some really fun activities for the boys, and if you complete 5 activities, you get a patch!

david turned into a master hunter and found some pretty cool things for the boys to inspect at closer range in their cute microscopes.  bishka was satisfied that david would be able to feed his family all sorts of crunchy insect protein things in the event of a world apocalypse.

finishing up our packets.  one page was drawing the things you saw on the nature hike.  pace drew a tadpole, duck, fish, and "sea monster" (the super large carp fish--some dead, some alive--we saw along the water).

max drew a grasshopper and his legs, a duck, another duck, a tadpole, and a chick with his beak.  max impressed me the other week at nursery, writing his name on a coloring page!  letters are all over the page, and sometimes for than one of the same letter, but it's all there and he's doing great!  it's amazing what max just picks up on, the little smarty pants!  our little boys are growing up!
