i was at lowe's a little while ago and saw they had a "build and grow" workshop to build a little wooden fire truck. i came home and registered the boys, knowing they would love it. the workshop was last saturday, and it was pretty cool! and--it was totally free! i thought we would maybe have to pay for materials there...nope! they handed over aprons, safety goggles, mini hammers, and packets with all materials included! despite all the loud hammering (there were about 50 kids and their parents there, all hammering simultaneously!), the boys had great fun! we will be back for more fun building workshops!
(like father, like son! love how they both look while concentrating!)

There may not be such a thing as a free lunch, but apparently there is a free fire truck!
