summerfest

i am not a carnival person.  but in the name of "having fun with your kids", i venture out of my comfort zone every so often.  ha ha.  so...orem summerfest it was.  i think this was the same day as the marathon, actually, so david opted to be the photographer and hang out on the ground while mama adventured with the boys.  we bought enough tickets thinking each boy could pick out one ride each to do all together, but we ended up having enough to do three things!

first up:  the crazy house.  we walked in and pace was so excited to run around, he took off, "c'mon mama!"  i looked up from helping max, and realized we were in the crazy mirror section.  which pace was the real pace?  ha ha!  we finally made it up and around and back down to david.

next up:  pace was really excited to do this big indiana-jones-esque jungle gym together.  so max stayed with david while pace and i ran through this thing.  all i could think about while running over bridges and things with pace was how this little carnival gym was put together with carnival nuts and bolts and we had a carnival employee yelling at the kids to quit running across the rope bridge (because that would loosen all those carnival nuts and bolts, right?!), and we had a carnival slide to make it down to the safe bottom and get our feet on the ground.  walking up that first rope bridge i was definitely doing some deep breathing exercises--heights + me = bad news.  i vote daddy does adventures.

this is the part where i unknowingly cut in front of about 25 parents and kids and threw my own boys on the car of their choice, and then turned around to give our tickets to the carnival worker.  he looked at me and in spanish told me to get to the end of the line.  ha!  oops...c'mon boys, mama messed up a little...

round 2:  the boys got on the only thing left:  tandem motorcycles.  holy cow they loved that carousel!  just check out max's happy face when the worker took off the rope and i scooped him off the ride.
