homemade noodles

the next thing on my vacation list:  pulling out my kitchen aid noodles set and making homemade pasta for the first time!  so easy and so worth it!  i looked through the fridge and pantry and decided we had plenty of stuff to whip up something quite delicious!  my ingredient list:  kale/swiss chard/spinach mix, cream, garlic, red pepper flakes, cauliflower, shrimp, and apricots, sunflower seeds, and fresh basil.  what would you make with that list?  here's what i came up with:

kale/chard/spinach spaghetti with roasted cauliflower and shrimp in a garlic cream apricot sauce topped with roasted/salted sunflower seeds and fresh basil.  it was so much easier to make homemade pasta than i thought it would be, and so, so yummy!  after i got everything plated i was desperately hoping we weren't about to dig in to play dough-tasting noodles.  success!  the boys missed out on the deliciousness and opted to eat pb+j instead.  they'll appreciate my gourmet meals later in life when they need help wooing a prom date.
