quarantine

i have banished all the male members of the coombs household to the tv room, locked the door, and thrown away the key.  three times a day i slide food, drink, and medicine under the door, and hope the snoring is a good sign.  i'm only slightly kidding...ha...
turns out pace's hacking cough is an upper respiratory infection and an accessory ear infection (interesting...he never complained of any pain at all...although now i wonder if that's what made him be off balance this week and constantly fall and bonk his head on three separate occasions in one day...), max's cough/fever/moaning is pneumonia, and david's cough/shortness of breath/fever is also pneumonia.
other than the side effects of sleep deprivation, i seem to be ok, and trying to keep a good head on my shoulders to keep everyone's medicine straight...

in other awesome news, pace is now tall enough to hold the railing when he goes down the stairs, and he is also fully potty trained!  (i've been putting a diaper on him at nights, but after practicing for a few months of no diapers at nap time, we upped the anty to bed time, too).  i tell him to keep his pee doors* closed--it worked!  we've had one full week of no nighttime diapers!  no looking back!

*we looked at the bladder in the anatomy book one day and i showed pace the two muscle groups that open and close when your bladder is full.  we now affectionately call them the pee doors.

update:

day 3 of antibiotics:  watching bill nye the science guy with daddy

day 5 of antibiotics...feeling well enough to sit up and play lego play station with daddy...this was pace's first exposure to video games...not sure if his excitement is a good thing or not...

Yuck. Must be bacterial because you don't sound that upset. That also means you need to be extra careful not to contract.

Like I need to tell you that...
