not sure what they were fighting this time...tornados again? i asked david and he just told me they were watching toy story 3, when the toys are all going down the melter, and they all reached over to each other and held hands before the big claw came down and grabbed them.

a run and a ride
david went on a run with a work buddy on the trail at cascade springs. i think he likes trail running...
and the next day david and pace went back to cascade springs on a jeep adventure, and saw a moose and all the waterfalls!

kindness
when i was pregnant with maxwell, a sister in our ward contracted cancer. after going through treatments, surgeries, etc., she then got a really bad infection that required daily antibiotics (administered three time a day) through a picc line. there were amazingly two sisters in the ward (me being one of them) who knew how to hook up picc lines and were comfortable administering iv antibiotics. it took about an hour, give or take, for the antibiotics to run through, so i had 2-3 hours a day with this sister, which then got whittled down to just one hour, after i got more pregnant-er, and the other sister got involved, and then a home health nurse. we had lots of time to talk. lots of time to get to know each other. lots of time to share life stories and dreams.
here we are, two years later, and i wanted to do a painting for my friend. she wanted a woman with Christ scene, and we could both testify of a very visible Hand keeping her afloat in life. this scene popped into my head as we were talking. honestly, it isn't quite as refined as i had hoped it'd be, but it'll do.
(intentionally blurry--i wanted to see how the colors blended)
art day
after being on the waiting list for.ever., we finally made it back to the byu art museum van gogh to play dough art lesson. this theme day was all about the ocean. here are the boys being ocean waves. pace is ironically much more willing to participate in classes and activities if he sees max doing it, too.
and then a lift truck came down the hallway. you can tell which boys are into trucks.
back in the craft room, we made jellyfish, sand art fish, and played with the coolest texture box ever--instead of the marbles that go in flower vases, they found little gel beads that soak in water and get larger, like those sponge bath animals. throw some water, gel beads, plastic fish and sharks in a box, and you're set! the boys have been begging to get some of our own gel beads--i think i'll start scouting out the floral sections of craft stores...
