26.2 miles in 4 hours and 4 minutes

david said running the utah valley marathon was by far the hardest thing he'd accomplished in his life.  the runners started at a farm in wallsburg and finished on center street in provo.  nitty-gritty training didn't start until a month before the event, and then really only 2 of those 4 weeks were in earnest.  the furthest david ran while training was 18 miles on a trail run, which is different than running on asphalt.  he said he felt fine because he works a job that keeps him on his feet all day long, but after running the marathon, you could tell he'd put forth all he could to cross the finish line on his feet.

pace and i went down to the finish line to cheer david across and get some photos.  max and my mom stayed at home.  david didn't hear me shout his name for photos, but he did hear a co-worker, so he gave a spirited fist-pump with the last ounce of his energy.  i'm so proud of you for sticking with it, david!

Nice work...but the family record is still mine!
