the other night during bedtime scriptures pace and i discussed a painting rendition of the city of enoch. we looked at all the bright, white clothing and light depicted in the painting, all the people raising their arms heavenward, the beautiful golden city. we talked about how all the people were so pure and good and always chose the right, so they got to be with jesus, and the whole city was raised to be with him. pace thought that was a pretty good thing.
and then the next day...
our little thinker came up to me and said "mommy, i don't want to live with jesus like that city because it was too bright and white and it would burn my eyes and i am scared of that." what would you tell your precocious 4 year old? i told him jesus wore sunglasses, and we would get some, too, when we met him, and not to worry.
