pace's school took a field trip to the newly renovated bean museum at byu last week. i'd never been to the bean museum, even pre-renovation, so this was pretty fun! lots of taxidermied animals!
getting all the kids lined up with the magic loop rope so no one gets lost...
max joined right in on the fun, checking out the elephant.
this was kind of creepy cool--a butterfly made up of lots of little butterflies. pace was tired of me taking photos at this point: "mom, don't take my picture!"
and we finished up the field trip with this cool little foresty area with a slide! max really, really wanted to do the slide, but all the bigger kids kept running around him and pushing ahead of him up the stairs. i told pace he needed to be max's helper and be a good big brother. it wasn't long before i heard max's wails inside of the tree trunk, and then i heard pace shouting, "wait! wait! wait! everybody stop! when max says "ouch", it means stop!" and there was pace, helping max move his way through the other kids, like moses parting the red sea--and true to pace's form, everyone listened to him! gold star moment!
