house x two weeks

i think this was last weekend.  the exterior is going up and the inside is sealed and textured and ready for paint!

after the half, the boys fell asleep within two minutes of sitting in the car, so we decided to just keep on driving and check out progress on the house.  shelves!  a staircase railing!  windowsills installed!  exterior painted!  stucco drying and ready to paint!--it'll match the darker grey/blue of the siding.  we're having red brick as accent along the bottom of the house.  excited to see it all together!

tulip festival half

i seriously think the tulip festival half would be way more appropriately named the two-to-three-miles-tops-in-the-tulip-gardens-and-the-remaining-ten-miles-in-the-killer-steep-rollers-of-the-thanksgiving-point-golf-course half.  the gardens were beautiful, and the rollers were seriously killers.  i have no problem going up those darn things, but what goes up must come down, and man, those steep downhills over and over and over and over and over really makes your quads fell like jello going through a shredder.  very satisfied with my 2:16:01 finish time.  so fun seeing my bff heather and david and the boys at the finish line!--made me finish those last few hundred yards upright!

as you can see, i just love having pictures taken of just me.  i'm not self-conscious at all!

random month of april...

april has been a big compilation of random shots:  not sure when this was taken, but the boys sure love being silly with daddy!

pace was very proud to make his very own marble race one day!

the boys were playing finger puppets, and were having fun, until pace's puppet fell off his finger and he got a little upset with it and threw it away.  he was done...were treading new waters in teaching him how to understand and deal with his toddler-boy emotions.

snow day!  a huge snow storm blew in, and it snowed all day long!  pace was so excited to get his snow gear on and play in the snow, as we'd had a pretty snow-free winter!

a huge new rc willey opened at the mall (it has an impressive two-story waterfall in the front!), and we walked over to check things out and the boys found their favorite things:  mini cars!

pace's primary teachers moved, but before moving, they gave him a remote controlled car.  the boys are getting lots of car-chase-race time around the house!--one uses this yellow car, and the other uses the remote controlled front end loader from uncle jon erik from christmas.

uncle jon erik sent a fun scratch-and-sniff monster book for the boys.  it came on a day that poor pace had gotten yet another stomach bug (and diarrhea), and the scratch-and-sniff stickers smelled really, really gross.  pace decided to plug his nose so he "couldn't smell them and feel sick."

lunch date with my boys:  calorie-loading before my race!  five guys!  max sat like this, just thinking about things, for long enough that i could actually get a cute picture of him!

silly pace

pace loves taking photos with my phone, and loves asking me to take pictures of him, this time, being super silly.

saturday morning

this was a few weeks ago, i had a baptism to attend, and david took the boys adventuring.  this is the typical way they go down slides:  until they feel comfortable at a particular park, we all have to load up together on my or david's lap, and we all go down together.

easter pirates

i totally forgot about these photos!  i may not have gotten the boys more easter treats, but the pirates stopped by and dropped off a new treasure map.

max was really sad that only pace's basket was hiding in the shed.  even though the pirates drew another map for max, and hid his basket in a other spot, max was not interested in following the map. we ended up just carrying him, dejected, to the closet where his basket was hiding...

...then he was happy.

easter weekend was also general conference!  david took the boys out on an adventure while listening to conference--they were getting super wiggly and were not interested in staying home.
